There is a long history of arts and cultural engagement with social change and activism. But how can this experience and learning help us tackle the challenge of climate change?
Hosted by axis Ballymun, this discussion was intended to take place in March 2020 in Dublin, Ireland, as part of a series of Cultural Adaptations workshops and events. With the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting live events, the discussion instead took place in April 2020, covering a wide range of topics relating the artist as activist, and lessons which can be brought to adapting ourselves and societies to climate change.
With guest panellists Catriona Fallon (Green Arts supported by Theatre Forum), Lian Bell (artist) and Aoibheann McCann (artist), Maeve Stone (Cultural Adaptations embedded artist) and participant contributors, and hosted by Mark O’Brien and Emma Connors.
